Amazing Cleaning Secrets from Us, the Pros!
Over the years, we have learned a lot. But what knowledge is useful if it’s not shared? We have picked the top cleaning secrets for you so you can also use them. Here we go!
Make your Own cleaning solution:
You can certainly buy cleaning products in stores, but it’s also easy to whip up a homemade cleaner for a fraction of the cost. Simply combine 1/4 cup liquid castile soap with 1/4 teaspoon essential oil of your choice. Next, mix the soap and oil into a quart of water in a spray bottle. Typically we add about 10 drops of 100% pure essential oil, such as lavender, eucalyptus or lemongrass, to the mix. It’ll give your cleaning solution antibacterial properties—and with that, a delicious smell.
The usefulness of hydrogen peroxide isn’t limited to skin cuts and scrapes; you can use it to erase grime and clean the bathroom too. In a 1:1 ratio, we mix hydrogen peroxide with water, sometimes adding a drop of soap to help bind the mixture. It is easy to apply with a spray bottle.
To clean glass, combine vinegar and Hydro Peroxide.
Nose not a fan of that vinegar scent? A few drops of lemon (or any of your choice) essential oil which can help improve the strong smell. You’re never going to get the sour smell out of it, but we find that adding fresh herbs to the mix, like a little bit of rosemary or a few oregano leaves, helps soften the odor.
When the permanent marker ends up in the wrong hands, vegetable oil can clean it off lots of surfaces — even skin. Then just wipe up with a damp cloth and you’re done.
Lastly… Big mess? Start right away. Don’t stop moving, and don’t overthink it. It’s easy to be overwhelmed by a big cleaning project, but it’s really not that hard. It can be hard work, but it’s not complicated. Perhaps the best thing you can do for yourself is rethink your relationship with cleaning. Cleaning can be very therapeutic if you are in the right mindset.
